The Coach and Horses in Welwick was the venue for the presentation of cheques totalling £3000 which had been raised at a Christmas auction held in the village. The beneficiaries were The Kidney Renal appeal at Hull Royal Infirmary, the Daisy Appeal at Castle Hill Hospital, The Baby Unit at Hull Royal Infirmary, St Mary's Church Welwick and the Welwick Village Hall. Puppets

Anna Ingleby with some of the Indonesian rod puppets that performed in the Indigo Moon Theatre Company production of 'The worm that squirmed.' Prior to the performance which was held in the Village Hall on the 18th January, Anna Ingleby and Haviel Perdana taught the local children the art of puppet making.




Haviel Perdana wrote and performed the music and presented the sound effects.

Church Concert

Hull University's Early Musik Ensemble under the Directorship of Professor Christopher Wilson, far left, took more than an hour to tune the various instruments for a programme of music from France, England, and Germany in various combinations of violin, cello, recorders, trombone and the harpsichord for a concert held in St Mary's Church Welwick on the 25th January.

The concert was organised by Andrew Pate the Welwick Church organist and was the latest in the 'Concerts in Churches' series. Entrance to the event like all the others in the series was free but a large and enthusiastic audience donated £134 as a token of their appreciation. The amount was divided between the Hull University music department and St Mary's Welwick. Those taking part were:
